While the world waits to hear the explanation from the WMSC about the $100 million penalty that McLaren have been hit with, Planet F1 has an interesting comparison of statements made by McLaren team principal, Ron Dennis and FIA head honcho, Max Mosley about the let off for the McLaren Mercedes’ drivers - Hamilton, Alonso and DeLaRosa.

Before that, let’s see what the WMSC’s official statement said, viz. the drivers:

(However) due to the exceptional circumstances in which the FIA gave the team’s drivers an immunity in return for providing evidence, there is no penalty in regards to drivers’ points.

To get some individual reactions, let’s first go to Max Mosley first, who says,

“For the drivers we have made an exception because they have supplied evidence”

Later, Ron Dennis had this to say,

“The WMSC received statements from Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Pedro de la Rosa stating categorically that no Ferrari information had been used by McLaren, and that they have not passed any confidential data to the team”

And, the world (minus the millions of Ferrari toadies) waits for an explanation.

Ya. I have been a Mclaren fan since “MP4″ stood for “Marlboro Project 4″! Testing times, yes. But I am a NOT a fair weather fan and my allegiance is not driven by availability of merchandise. So I will sit tight through this rough weather. In the interest of full disclosure, I do have F1 related merchandise, featuring McLaren/Mercedes mostly (though a work related complimentary Christmas gift landed me a BMW-Sauber hat last year). I still treasure a tattered West hat that I bought in 1999/2000 and my latest acquisition is DTM hat with Mika’s autograph woven into it.

well…u r a true fan! I cant even show my head for dinner with my Tifosi fans. Painful bro, idiots didnt even care to read the verdict or argue. I wonder if there are any passionate and ‘fair’ Tifosi out there who will argue with us about the statement.

Incredible isnt it, 14 pages of report and then in conclusion they still cant prove anything!.

Love your merchandise collection, had the passion, did not have the dough. And also cant be able to get in reach of merchandise, will definitely be a collector from now on.

On another matter, there was once when Mika came to Malaysia, he went for a day stroll and at an Indian store, he was excited to see the coconut grating machine. He used it, there were alot of pictures then, I had a few, but lost it with my crashed HD, do you have any old picture collections?
