The spirit of Halloween

One Halloween, a few summers ago, on an unusually balmy night, one decided to adopt the best spirit of Halloween that one could and dress up as a M.i.D.
Sadly, and most typically, no one understood! And since then disillusionment has crept in. *sigh*

Santosh: No comments about the “tiger” prints on the shirt or the “undraayer” showing below the dhoti?

Deepa: Unakku poramai!
DoZ: Somehow I think there is some sarcasm involved in your comment. Hmmmphf!

November 7th, 2007 at 12:08 pmEeeks! You scared me. But why not wrap that white dhoti all over ?
superstarksa http://superstarksa.com
November 11th, 2007 at 6:19 pmAparna: The wrapping would kill the kannammapettai effect, no?

November 13th, 2007 at 11:53 pmThere is an unwritten rule (at least in my head) that halloween costume should indicate that some effort has gone about in the making /draping of the costume. You can’t wear a dhoti and expect people to appreciate it. It is simply not done! Had someone covered their face and worn a sari for the halloween, wouldn’t you have cried foul.

November 14th, 2007 at 2:42 pmAmethyst: Do you know how hard it is to make that dhoti stay around my waist? And it takes guts wearing a silk shirt with tiger prints in the heart of rural South East Ohio, hundreds of miles from the nearest beach.
So, according to you If I had put my head through a cardboard box and gone dressed up as a obnoxious “free mammary examinations booth” (there were five other kids who did that), would that be more appreciated than my under-appreciated MiD? Sad! hehe!

November 14th, 2007 at 11:29 pmAre you saying that the shirt is not one of your regular wear?!

November 15th, 2007 at 5:20 pmwearing shorts is cheating!

November 16th, 2007 at 6:50 amyes alpha. couldn’t agree more

November 17th, 2007 at 11:09 amAmethyst: I don’t wear silk shirts with tiger prints on a day to day basis. And I wore that shirt once that day and have not worn it ever after. And why are you ganging up with Alpha? She’s a trouble maker, you know? Are you one, too?
Alpha: Have you seen Raj Kiran movies? Or have you been in Kannammapettai at least? This is standard wear there - Veshti folded half to hips with undraayer showing!
