The Three Year Itch

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

Our relationship turned three today. One day I read about you and wished I had met you. Then later on that same day, when I finally got to meet you, it was love at first sight. And you have been with me ever since, through thick and thin. So why am I talking about our love affair like it has soured?

Well, you know our relationship HAS soured. No, it is not you, honey. No, darling, I am not breaking up with you with the the “It’s not you, It’s me!” speech. I am not breaking up with you, period. But something has gone wrong. I am sure.

It is not you and it is surely not me either. It is them. All of them. The whole world. Some of them must be dumb if they cannot figure out that our relationship is unique and one in a billion. They don’t seem to understand that just because there are more like me, they can’t have the same relationship that we have. (more…)

Can you crack it?

Can you do it? Not one, not two, but 12358 puzzles in all (nice numerical connection, no?). The very first one seems simple and I got it (could you please cut out the drum rolls?) at the first attempt. I am definitely waiting to see the rest.

Click on the picture to go directly to the page and as with all of Google’s toys these days, you can add it to your personalized Google homepage (if you have a Gmail account and ergo a Google id) and keep track of your progress.

Update to five and six too!

In response to a threatening email (lol…) from a fellow quizzer, the Three Hi-Fives to IMDb.com quiz that I posted on October 18, has been updated with answers. I have no excuse for being late.

Oh well, that takes care of the “update to five” part in the title. Now for the six.

In Thamizh, Aaru refers to the number 6. Saw it last night and found several interesting references in the movie. For one, I found that whenever the camera panned over sections of the slum with the rail tracks in the background of the frame, a train seemed to be going past the slum. This seemed to be in every single scene. I don’t know if that was intentional, but if it was, I can give them a 9/10 for effort. Before you ask me, how did I notice such details and whether I do this for all movies, I have to add that, overall Aaru = Bore-u!

Which means that about 15 to 20 minutes into the movie, I was watching for such things such as the badges on the Ford SUVs used in the movie. And for trains in the frame.

But I noticed one reference, which deserves a post by itself, however unintentional it might have been. Probably tonight.
